Background
Since its founding in 1969, Project Management Institute (PMI) has grown to be the organization of choice for project management professionalism. With 240,000 members in 160 countries, PMI is the leading nonprofit professional association in the area of Project Management. PMI establishes project management standards, provides seminars, educational programs and professional certification that more and more organizations desire for their project leaders. Sharing project experiences, effective project management techniques and tools, and valuable lessons learned are among the many benefits of being a member of the Project Management Institute.
The Kansas City Mid-America Chapter was chartered in 1993 and today has more than 1,300 members. Membership in the KC Mid-America Chapter provides the opportunity to network with other Project Management professionals and practitioners in a diverse range of industries throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, eastern Kansas and western Missouri.
