2021 Kansas City PMI Election: Knowledge Sharing on Open Board Positions and Election Process

Or know someone you would like to nominate for the PMI KC Board of Directors?  Or just want additional information.  Your invited to attend a zoom session and obtain additional information about the 2020 Open Board Positions and the Election process next Tuesday, September 1st @ 7:00pm EST 

 

2020 Kansas City PMI open positions: 

  • President Elect - Shall work at the direction of the president to obtain a transfer of knowledge to ensure a smooth transition into the role of president 
  • Vice President of Professional Development - Responsible for planning, scheduling, arranging, and supervising chapter meetings and any special events, including providing the overall guidance and direction for the annual Professional Development Days. 
  • Vice President of Membership - Shall plan, recruit, arrange, and manage all functions related to the PMI-KC Membership. 
  • Vice President of Volunteers - Shall solicit volunteers for assistance with chapter activities, researching and matching volunteers with opportunities, strategizing and guiding the direction of the Chapter's volunteer efforts. 
  • Vice President of Marketing - Shall direct and manage the marketing of chapter events and initiatives. The vice president of marketing shall establish and maintain partnerships with Sponsors for PMI-KC.

Membership provides the opportunity to network with other Project Management professionals and practitioners in a diverse range of industries throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, eastern Kansas and western Missouri.

The vision of the KC Mid America Chapter is to be the professional association chapter of choice for project management knowledge, accreditation, development and practice.

 

Mission

The mission of the KC Mid America Chapter is to promote project management knowledge, standards and ethical practice for members, the profession and the community.

Goals  

  • Develop a growing and committed membership of Project Management Professionals by aggressively adding new members, retaining existing members, and gaining volunteer support.
  • Provide interesting and educational programs.
  • Increase awareness of PMI certification process.
  • Provide our members the opportunity to earn their Professional Development Units. 
  • Improve communications with members and public.
  • Create and deliver education that strengthens Project Management skills and enforces the concepts covered in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide).
  • Work toward establishing student chapters at Avila, Kansas State University, Rockhurst University, University of Missouri - Kansas City and the University of Kansas.
  • Give back to the community through service projects and other volunteer opportunities.
